$400K Near the White Soxās Proposed Stadium or $400K in New Lenox?
Thereās been a lot of noise about the White Sox stadium plan so I broke down whatās actually real on the channel this week, and the honest answer is that the ballpark itself is still a rendering. What does have federal money and a real construction timeline is the rail yards project nearby. Those are two separate things.
Bridgeport and the South Loop are the neighborhoods getting the most attention right now because of the stadium halo effect. And at $400K in Bridgeport, youāre buying into a neighborhood betting on a project that still needs Amtrak to relocate, community opposition to quiet down, and multiple funding sources to come through, on a timeline that could stretch well past 2030.
In New Lenox at $400K the upside is already moving. Wintrust Crossroads is booking out. A $27M federal grant is paying for the new Gougar Road rail overpass. Lincoln-Way schools, Metra access, Will County taxes. No stadium required.
Both markets have upside. One is a bet on something that may or may not happen. The other is buying into something already working.
